Speaker Guidelines

Congratulations on being selected to present at Architecture Exchange East. We’ve assembled the following  information for ArchEx speakers to help ensure that both you and your audience enjoy an outstanding experience.

Presenters are required to register and will receive complimentary registration for the day of their scheduled presentation(s). Speakers will be contacted with registration instructions once registration opens. Presenters who wish to attend on additional days must register and pay for additional days.

  • Speaker Information

  • Please provide your full name as it should appear in print.
  • Please enter your professional designation or affiliations as they should appear in print. Examples: AIA; FAIA; RA; LEED AP
  • Note: Recommended image size is 80 x 80 pixels. Allowable file extensions are: jpg, gif, png, tif
    Maximum file size is 1MB

  • This information will help our evaluators determine your qualifications to serve as a presenter.

    Tips for creating a biography: Limit to one paragraph (approximately 150 words)

    Consider emphasizing career highlights, especially those that relate to your session(s). You may wish to include books or articles published, awards received, community involvement, or any other notable accomplishments.
  • Please enter the name(s) and email address(es) of any additional speakers below
  • Presentation Information

  • The title should be succinct, compelling and effectively communicate the content of the presentation. Please limit the title to 10 words and 50 characters.
  • Please provide a summary of your presentation; limit your response to about 50 words/450 characters.

  • Learning Objectives
    Please provide at least 4 learning objectives. For tips on developing learning objectives, download Writing Learning Objectives.

    It should be assumed that each learning objective begins with "After attending this presentation, participants will be better able to ..."


Discounted rates for attendees and speakers have been secured at the Richmond Marriott, our official conference hotel. Discounted rates at other nearby hotels can be found on our Accommodations page. Conference presenters are not paid nor reimbursed for travel/lodging expenses.


Please upload your presentation by Oct. 18. Your presentation(s) will be pre-loaded onto the conference computer located in your session room. We strongly recommend that you bring a backup of your presentation on a USB flash drive. Please indicate in the form if we are allowed to distribute these documents to attendees prior to the conference.

We are continually working toward a greener conference by limiting the amount of paper we use. With that in mind we are asking you to submit any handout files to us electronically.
